Background

Having undergone a back-end focussed re-platforming exercise, WorldRemit turned their focus to updates to their web interface to improve customer flows, onboarding and in-app processes.

The introduction of new platform APIs and improved flows prompted  a rebuild of the current native mobile apps in React Native.

Objectives

To successfully deliver on the requirements set by WordRemit, at a high level, the objectives outlined were:

• Rebuild existing native Sender app to React Native
• Rearchitected and rebuild existing core transfer app from native to React Native
• Implement new journeys to increase retention and customer lifetime value
• Unify web and mobile codebases to accelerate feature delivery

Architecture

Architect sender app and co-architect core transfer app with reusable service layer across all platforms (web and mobile)

Mobile Development

Manage and support the development teams with the implementation of the architecture and mobile app creation

Frontend Development

Architect and manage the unification of codebases and cross-platform code compilation and operational readiness

Enterprise Integrations

Agree and implement third-party enterprise technical integrations with multiple providers

Security & Privacy Governance

Cross-department agreement and sign-off of new architecture and security governance framework for apps and web

Stakeholder Management

Work with stakeholders across the management team to agree on project requirements, build cross-functional teams and deliver all projects into production.

Sender App

The WorldRemit sender app wast built from the ground up to focus on low-powered mobile phones with intermittent internet connection.

It delivers a sender experience and transfer tracking capabilities for international money transfers.

Main Transfer App

We laid the foundations and equipped the WorldRemit team to continue the build and re-platforming of their Native to React Native application.

The transfer app was built and architected for rapid feature delivery and high performance.
