Mozilla’s Webian Shell is a browser-based desktop interface (a bit like Chrome OS) that runs on top your existing operating system – essentially an operating system within an operating system.
The project is still in its early stages of development but anyone can gladly download a copy from webian.org and get started. The interface comprises of an address bar across the top of the screen, a clock on the bottom right-hand corner as well as a mini navigation at the left-hand corner (Home, Welcome tab and an Add tab button).
Mozilla has plans to enhance this early project built entirely in HTML, CSS and Javascript to include features such as; on-screen keyboard, multiple home screens and hardware control among other things.
